Got a problem with Linux or any GPLed software? WhyDontYouPaySomeoneToFixIt? That make total sense for Freetards.

You are just a lone user or a fledging business, so you certainly have a large sum of money to pay a dev to fix whatever software has been broken thanks to LongPhpCodez™. That’s especially true when you cannot hope to recover your expenses by selling this debugged version since it would also mean that thanks to FreeTheCode™ you would have to release the source and an already established large corporation with plenty of engineers will also release a binary for 0$ and eat your lunch…

It’s perfect however if you want to go back to the years of the mainframes and see software as a service (SaaS). It’s no wonder Google and IBM love the GPL and Linux…

Considering most developers work for a minimum of $60/hour, you’re looking at a pretty expensive fix. 3 hours of work and its already more expensive than a copy of Windows. 15 hours of work and you could have bought the entire Adobe CS4 suite.

Note to freetards:

That $60 comprises the following:

  • $2 for large bottle of Mountain Dew
  • $3 for super-sized burger
  • $5 for four packs of strawberry-flavored cheetos
  • $10 for flowers, to convince your Mom that she really likes you living in the basement
  • $10 for the payments on the ricer
  • $20 for the Indian outsourcing company that got you the job in the first place
  • $10 for assorted HR, legal, and other costs

Leaving you with … four packs of strawberry-flavored cheetos.

What, you ATE them?

Are you INSANE?

Well, $2 for a bucketload of Mountain Dew is certainly a cheap shot.

Do you prefer absinthe, or are you opposed to home-brew accountancy?
