When a poor n00b posts a thread for help with a GUI application and some 1337 LY posts a reply along the lines of “use this application instead, it’s far superior.” Said superior application usually ends up being a ridiculously confusing command line program.

Or a fork of the previous application that has its own flaws preventing the user from doing whatever they wanted to do in the first place.
I remember for a little while I was anxiously waiting for the completion of Xegl, because egl was the way of the future. Then I stopped doing all that crank.
Whoops, I meant that for FaithBasedDevelopment. Must be all the crank.
