If software is closed-source, that can only mean one thing: the author(s) are concealing some dastardly function, such as the code “phoning home” with your private information. Of course, this is exactly what Microsoft does.

Also, there are no networking tools to determine if this is actually happening, and no means of preventing it!

I’ve long suspected that Linux phones home all the time. I’m not blaming Ubuntu for this, because Ubuntu won’t install on my NetBook. No, I think it’s a problem with Fedora 11. I’m very suspicious about Fedora 11. It’s the only version of Linux that will install on my NetBook. There must be a reason for that.

Once I figure out how the hell to get WiFi working, I’ll be able to peruse teh codez…

Getting it to work is “easy”, if you have the right Esoteric Workaround.
