Microsoft leads the desktop operating system market with over 90% of the marketshare belonging to Windows.

In 2001, they had an anti-trust suite filed against them. Was it because they had a monopoly on the operating system market? Nope. It was filed because Internet Explorer was being bundled with Windows. A web browser was the target of the suite, not the operating system.

Naturally, freetards look at the OS marketshare, hear someone say “monopoly”, then immediately assume that Microsoft must have a monopoly on the desktop. If that were the case, why do people own macs and why are Linux users able to use Linux?
