Linux hasn’t been dominating the desktop yet? Well no problem! All it needs is some marketing! First we find a founder who willing to risk big! Second we make a marketing add with huge amounts of FUD about MS and it’s products.(Of course it just exposed us being hypocrites when we complain about MS being FUD, but who cares?) Third we over exaggerate the pros (including the pros that no one practically cares). Finally we create misleading statements such as millionsofprogramers™ contributing to single open-source project or the app respiratory has the software that you need. (It doesn’t have it, oh well… you don’t need that softare anyways)

A.) I have yet to see code that isn’t badly written

B.)What ever you’re smoking, you should share with the rest of us.

Linux had marketing… back in the heady days of the late ’90s and early ’00s. Big efforts by Mandrake, Red Hat, SuSE, and others to entice people to switch. No need to by Win 98 or XP, here, buy US for $90…uh… okay $60… $25? how about $10? Crap… what do we do with all these dusty, unsold boxes now?

They couldn’t sell it then for any price and can’t give it away for free. yet people have been snapping up Win7 left, right, and center… and not just because it came on a new PC. Go ask any of the stores how long the Family pack lasted last year ;-)

Windows isn’t poorly written, it’s just that hackers use advanced methods to punch holes in the operating system.

Windows isn’t that bad at security, I have to admit, but the dancing pigs problem in Vista isn’t worth it for most people.

Also, Linux market share is as tiny as a cellular organism. FYI, Linux’s odd GUI et cetera is something you should think about.
