Basically the last refuge of the Winbred.

They can not stop the #1 smartphone OS, even with crazy amounts of SueSueSue™ and general FUD.

They can’t stop the #1 server OS, never even got close in 15+ years of competition. Windoze Server is dying these days.

They don’t even exist in E-Book Readers which are selling by the millions – totally 100% dominated by GNU/Linux. The Kindle Fire is so absurdly awesome it is even claiming notorious Mafia$oft shills (hi Ian).

So it’s down to the desktop, an industry that is increasingly becoming irrelevant thanks to iOS and Android.

Despite it all, here I go posting this on a GNU/Linux desktop. An OS which is much faster and more efficient, more secure (any of you Wintards got hit by the recent Java zero-day?), more beautiful (thanks to great theme and wm support), usable (thanks to above), and free of cost. This same OS that got me interested in Computer Science by it’s open nature allowed me to acquire a absurdly high paying job with gold-plated benefits packages in the middle of a deep recession.

This is the same OS the computer wizards at Google use on the desktop. Which I promise you, nobody here is remotely qualified to even work as a janitor for.

And I wonder, do these Winbreds have any fucking clue what they are talking about?

No. They do not. Linux is a better desktop than Windoze. I’ve used both for years and yes I will conclude the Linux desktop just is a better designed and more flexible operating system overall. Going back to Windoze is like trying to use a computer designed by a toy company.

For once you’re right: most here are vastly overqualified to work as janitor for Google.

As for the rest: Job contract, or it didn’t happen.

“any of you Wintards got hit by the recent Java zero-day?”

Nope.
First: I don’t see how java is part of the OS.
Second: If we assume your crappy argument is valid (the OS security is poor, because of an exploit in an application), then Linux sucks as much as Windows, if not even more – http://www.zdnet.com/blog/security/kill-tool-released-for-unpatched-apache-server-vulnerability/9304?tag=nl.e589

“allowed me to acquire a absurdly high paying job with gold-plated benefits packages in the middle of a deep recession.“

Weren‘t you supposed to be a college/university student? How did you got a job, and a high paying one? IAmASysAdmin™

Also, funny how you connect visual bling with usability.

Yes, full time student and full time employee. I’m just hardcore like that, k.

Yes visual bling and usability can go hand in hand. My Linux desktop has both.

And full time bullcrapper.

@kurk:
Adam can’t decide what he is. One day he claims to be a student working to a degree in computer science, or is it it software engineering(?), and the next day he claims to have earned a computer science degree, or is it software engeneering(?), degree a couple decades ago.

In otherwords, the bull$#!+ changes with every bit of change in the wind.

I 'll answer that later, I now have to bang Megan Fox, Adriana Sklenarikova and Adriana Lima at the same time. OMG everyone on the internet is so awesome.

Oh you people, so little and insignificant, yet so full of yourself.
