Ninety-nine bottles of Win2k on the wall …

Windows is evil, just because. Therefore it is technically deficient because:

  • It relies on DOS. Which it hasn’t since Dave Cutler and NT came along.
  • It abuses RAM. Pity those gigabytes …
  • It forces you to do everything as root/Administrator. I feel the pain of my arm being twisted behind my back even now.
  • It’s rilly rilly slow when booting. And “hibernate” doesn’t count.
  • It doesn’t run on (insert chipset here, where linux almost certainly doesn’t run on given chipset).

But the most popular “complaint” is that it causes horrid and terminal problems when upgrading. JustReinstallWindows™!

Or, alternatively, do things sensibly. Also ignore hysteria. Here’s the link quoted by the nitwit who came up with the TM. Note that there are several possible solutions, including one that I personally reckon is more or less definitive.

I’m not entirely sure what’s wrong with a clean install anyway. It’s better than the Bi…

- It relies on DOS.
Hahahahahaha!
- It abuses RAM.
Only Vista does, XP and 7 are quite ram eficient.
- It forces you to do everything as root/Administrator.
No it doesn't, it's the same as in linux, only better.
- It’s rilly rilly slow when booting.
LIE, windows 7 boots faster than snow leopard or any mainstream linux distro.
- It doesn’t run on (insert chipset here).
I don't even understand this one, things are made to run windows, what the hell is this guy talking about?

Nice, but doesn't beat the Boycott Novel one :)

Ah, but this one has been seen out in the wild! (cf current Linux Hater thread.)

It's also got a proud tradition of Luser self-indoctrination going back to Win2000 and beyond ...

(Not that anybody would choose to reinstall a Linux distro, of course. Perish the thought. What problem could that possibly solve?)

I also laughed quite heartily(TM) at comments like "I can't even boot into Vista as I have no option to."
