Windows and Linux co-existing? To quote Whitney Houston, “it’s not right, but it’s okay”, especially if it means winning more converts.

I mean, sure, there’s risks and incompatibility issues. And you’ll need to reboot into Windows to do anything useful or run an essential app. But, that’s cool. It’s a good introduction into the Linux experience.

Of course, why folks even need to be “weaned” away from Windows when Linux is apparently perfect is never explained by the Linux crowd. Even though, I suspect, 90% of them who run a desktop Linux distro probably dual-boot with Windows anyway.

Straight to the point!

I used to have Ubuntu hoary hedgehog in my laptop some years ago, and all I got from it was 6GB loss of storage space.

Sure, I could get to my music and internet 10 secs faster (wow..), but during every single session, I was sure that a moment would come where I would need to check out that game or that other Windows app I had on the Windows partition. So I would need to reboot. For some reason, I would also stay to Windows and never come back.
Later, I booted directly to Windows and eventually deleted the 6GB partition of fail.
