GNU/Linux is not merely philosophically better than any other platform; it’s also technologically better.

This explains why practically nobody ever uses it. It’s hard enough getting your head around the philosophy, without having to deal with cutting-edge technology as well.

I challenge you to find a Linux Distro that copies the look and feel of old technologies like Windows or OSX. I challenge you to find a touted Linux application that is merely a half-arsed copy of a proprietary application, like OpenOffice and the GIMP and Thunderbird.

I challenge you to point out that a six month cycle designed to break whatever wasn’t broken in the previous six month cycle isn’t new technology.

It doesn’t have to work. It doesn’t have to be popular. It doesn’t even have to be stable.

It’s new, goddamnit!

Sorry, but it’s as new as IPX for which there is still support the Linux kernel.
