The obverse of WorksForMe™. You’ll never guess which TM applies to which OS.

The logic of this escapes me. 95% of the world’s desktops run on Windoze and their owners are almost by definition ignorant n00bs who wouldn’t recognise a CLI unless it was followed by a toris*. 1% of the world’s desktops run on Linux and their owners are, almost without exception, the finest and most knowledgeable computer scientists that sperm can progenitate.

Somehow, whenever one of that 1% feels the need to advise lesser breeds without the kernel, they almost always clear their throat by pointing out that Windows drivers don’t work out of the box, they can’t get the Registry to work, the desktop sucks, their pristine new Dell was overrun by warez in thirty seconds, all their RAM gets used up needlessly, they spend 50% of their time staring at a BSOD, and the cat choked on a hairball blown out of the fan.

Meanwhile, the ignorant 95% masses sail serenely on. Presumably they’re too indoctrinated to notice these minor inconveniences. But Linux advocates know better!

Bonus! Eric Steven Raymond explains how to configure a remote printer, attached via a parallel port(!), using CUPS.

*I’d like to take the time to thank the ever-wonderful Jean-Jacques Burnel for this joke.

Addendum: included ItsNotABugItsAFeature™ and BugNumberOne™ as per Delano’s comment.

Any problem encountered in Windows:

“Well, that’s it. Windows is crap! My God, M$, how can you sell this?! Proof that Windows is coded by a pack of brainless monkeys! Unforgivable! Incorrectable! Beyond redemption!”

Any problem encountered in Linux:

“It’s not a bug, it’s a feature! Don’t fret, just spend the next few hours on Google and forums trying to resolve it. It obviously failed because you’re a n00b. Don’t be so harsh man. Sure, x, y an z are big problems, but Linux is still better than the second coming of Jesus.”

Actually there’s probably a voucher hidden away in the Dell manual if you’re worried about that redemption thing. And to misquote Andre the Giant, “I do not think incorrigible is spelled the way you think it is…”

I do wonder how Freetards get BSODs and viruses all the time on windows if they’re such computer geniuses. My mother who don’t know anything about computers can run windows with out ever seeing a BSOD or getting malware.

Hahahaha

Maybe it’s intentional?
