[Edit: Administrator]
It seems the only evidence the one needs to prove that Linux works on the desktop is of the anecdotal variety. Never mind wifi not connecting, never mind your touch pad not working, never mind your stuttering audio. They’re not necessary on the server, and they actually work in a closed mobile ecosystem, so naturally, they must work on the desktop.
As long as you never try it, you can rest assured it’s true.

Everyone knows BSD is the superior OS for servers anyway.
Also LinuxSupportsMoreHardwareThanWindows™and, I would suggest, LinuxFriendlyHardware™. Also LinuxRunsOnTurtles™ (mine, but I’m very fond of it) and in fact LinuxRunsOnMacs™ — also mine. Mr Monco’s portmanteau TMs probably contain many more…
Actually the Loons have given up arguing over servers, which are boring. Just one damn LAMP after another. They’ve also tacitly given up on the desktop. Their big thing now, as you say, is “it’s good on mobiles,” retrenching like Brasov in WW1.
And which particular distro of Linux runs mobile phones? Oh, look …
And it’s not good on servers and mobiles. The only benefit of it is it’s price (not cost, because all things considered, actual cost could happen to be higher for Linux). If your expectations are low enough to sacrifice stability, security, functionality, etc., then yes, “it” is actually “good”.
Well, in fact exactly the same goes for desktops. Only much less people are willing to sacrifice everything for the price.
Change the body text of your other TM http://www.tmrepository.com/trademarks/monopolywouldbeokifwedidit/ to “ “.

Sounds like a business plan for Netscape, Novell, Sun etc.. Wait!
No it is good on the desktop because it is good on the desktop. GNU/Linux is the best OS on everything.
I thought Linux was just a kernel though. how can it possibly be good on the desktop if it’s just a kernel?
Good edit.
No problem. I felt inspired.
This is the first time I’ve seen the administrator edit something.
I’ve done it before. Sometimes I’ll add additional related TMs that make sense, or include some extra content like a quote from the article if the original author didn’t put one.
