So, a fanboy will admit the OS has issues. He might even flirt with blasphemy and admit that other OSes are not bad. But he’ll still try to save the day with, “but it’s come a long way in the past X years.”

Hmmm. I’m not sure. I’ll concede that it has “come a long way” once we have stable ABI/API, better hardware support, halfway-decent apps that can compete with proprietary offerings and updates that don’t break everything.

Of course, they fail to acknowledge their pet hate, Windows, has come a long way too, and will continue to beat the dead horses of BSODs and security.
