Another of our friendly loon Robert Pogson. Microsoft buys Skype so he will search for a alternative.

http://mrpogson.com/2011/05/10/skype/

“Since I don’t want anything to do with M$, I will now have to use a different VOIP solution. I have used ekiga before so that will likely do. I already have Pidgin installed as well and it can do voice.”

Now he only needs to tell all his friends (he must have some loon friends somewhere) and family to change to ekiga.

Wait, Skype wasn’t open source to begin with, why is he poisoning his system with the evil proprietary code?

I’ve been seeing this everywhere… Every Freetard is refusing to use Skype that is owned by Microsoft…

I wonder if they would except a Linux Distro developed by Microsoft…

There are Microsoft commits in the Linux kernel. Pogson shouldn’t be using Linux at all.

Also, JQuery is used on about 50% of all websites and it’s heavily funded and contributed to by Microsoft, does this mean pogson can’t use half the web?

The funniest thing to begin with is how many could make (the outdated) Skype linux version work properly (i.e. audio AND video streaming) to begin with.

For several years I waited for my webcam to be supported (FixItYourself™), never happened. After several WorksForMe™ someone told me YouDontNeedThat™.

How many are going to tell granny to switch to linux + ekiga to video chat?

I presume Pogson also chooses his ATMs very carefully … assuming he uses ATMs at all. I mean, it’s ridiculous.

I took the liberty of posting on his blog to point out that “Wintards” as a phrase far predates “FOSStards.” It’s odd, really, because you’d think “freetard” would come first, but I can’t come up with any evidence for that.

Once again, insults and childishness are all perfectly fine — but in one direction only.
