I think this is the best Alien reference so far.
It encapsulates old-style Unix SysAdmin indifference to problems (RTFM!) and new-style Loonix open hostility to users (see related trademarks, although none yet mention Bugzillaz).
AKA InKernelSpaceGNU1CanHearUsersScream™, but that’s a bit long-winded.
AKA GNUOneCanHearUsersScream™.
To be honest, it needs more polishing. But the concept is valid.
Be sure to check out Alien Resurrection. Ripley did the right thing by humanity. I’m looking forward to Shuttleworth finding a slightly less gruesome denouement.

Strangely enough, I laid awake last night wondering where the inspiration had come from. Then I realised that it was probably the Unix Hater’s Handbook (http://web.mit.edu/~simsong/www/ugh.pdf). Not sure if Textile does URLs in comments, and there’s no preview, so left as is.
It then occurred to me that it might be on the free barf bag distributed with the book.

Amazing how these things stick with you over decades, isn’t it?
