Linux… so calming, so useful…

Windows… a sinkhole of useless products… gets too many BSODs…

Clearly some Linux zealot did not drop Apple, BSD etc. in the mix.

I attempted to down this one because I know just how useless I am here.

Please don’t hesitate to start flame wars, hate me et cetera.

Like what the zealot says, Linux Hate is Microsoft love. Because there’s no such thing as Apple or BSD or Solaris.

You don’t seem to realise that this is a community, do you? It’s not a UbuntuForum, and it isn’t even comments on an SJVN blog.

I’m prepared to vote you down or up … I don’t know. It’s difficult to see either

(a) what your point is or
(b) what your inspiration was.

A link would be quite helpful.

Incidentally, are you still relying on that hopeless piece of sh1t OS, or is it just that you can’t be bothered to update your moniker?

@DrLoser

My intention was that most Linux zealots can’t recognize that there are other solutions than themselves or Windows. This is called False dilemma

False dilemma is when only two alternatives are listed when there are more. In this case, the alternatives are Linux and Windows. However, there are more: Apple, BSD, Solaris et cetera.

False dilemma is a fallacy. That is, according to Wikipedia, “a misconception resulting from incorrect reasoning in argumentation.”

So do you see my point now?

Aside from that, my link is my personal experience. I once encountered a Linux zealot on MS Sucks. That user was extremely brutal and said that only Linux and MS exists. I deleted his posts so I don’t really remember what said user said.

The fragmented comment system doesn’t even support Textile. Hypocrite.

False Dilemma (Wikipedia Definition. It’s not so hard when you get used to it, and your contention that the use of two different interfaces represents “hypocrisy” probably explains why you’re viewed with a certain degree of suspicion. Good god, man, you’re even more rabid than I am…

It’s not the Loon world’s best example of a false dilemma, but there do seem to be a lot of BSOD fanatics out there at the moment, so it’s a perfectly fine trademark. Make sure you use it out there in the wild sometime soon!

Well, obviously, I take that “eas of use” thing back and apologise … Gotta admit that a “review” button would come in handy in the comments section.

Well, Linux can’t BSOD, but it can kernel panic without warning, and X.org will most likely crash, taking the whole session with it.

I think XServerRestartsAreNotReal
Crashes™
and AtLeastItDoesntBSOD™ should be linked to this TM

At least Windows gives a Blue Screen to let you know your computer has jumped off the deep end (never mind the fact that I’ve not seen one in over 3 years and that was caused by Flash of all things). When Linux jumps off the cliff though you get nothing… no warning or anything. You find out that you have to unplug when you go to do anything at all on the computer and the only thing that happens is your mouse pointer moves; otherwise no action happens at all. hmmmm… I think I’ll take the BSOD (even though Win7 and Vista have been mean and not given me me one for years… hell.. they ain’t even let a virus in… what the !^@&?)

Interestingly, straightforward HTML used to work in the comments.

I take this as a good sign that TMR is still around. It’s kind of like those Blogger things where you get an absurd error message that your posted URI is too long (because Blogger is so utterly feeble that it encodes content as the argument part of a URI, rather than something slightly more sensible, like the actual goddamn content of a POST).

In other words, it’s Arthurian: the once and future King.

Well… and all this time I thought that Linux has a blue screen of death of its own – the kernel panic.

Well i guess nobody ever sees it anymore, what with all the constant Xserver crashes, people sooner just boot into windows ;)
