The process by which a community full of unpaid hackers competes to see who can coolest by releasing the most radical changes to their source code. Ultimately, this destroys stability of the ecosystem, but when you’re paid in pats on the back by your colleagues, who cares.

Don’t forget that their egos are fueled by twisted moralistic notions. They’re doing their development for free and open-sourcing it, so therefore they are MORALLY SUPERIOR to anyone else who codes for a living.

Administrator, perhaps MoralDrivenDevelopment could be another trademark?
