Despite being 5 years late the freetards claim Vista was released early because it had bugs. However, when each Ubuntu release is arguably early and has bugs they’re given a free pass. “Just give them a chance to catch up” we’re often told.

It’s ironic because most of the “bugs” in Vista were really just performance tuning or the need for a simplified menu layout. Vista never lost wifi when you closed the lid on your laptop, sound didn’t break every time you ran a Windows Update and video playback was smooth.

Vista is so bwahahahaha insert SP1 here .... wait, the bugs and issues are fixed after only a year?

If Ubuntu X+2 (a year, it is) could also fix Ubuntu X properly, that’d be ok, but it’s not happening.

For once, I have to agree with you. OMG.. the guys in Ubuntu forums are so damn annoying. A typical response for the suckage that is Unity:

“...six months is a lot to ask of a team for even a minor upgrade and this one pushed the limit. In many ways Unity simply isn’t done, as Shuttleworth and others noted. Probably won’t be truly done until it becomes the next LTS. So if participating in an evolutionary design experiment is what you’re after, Unity is the right choice. But if you just want to get work done and prefer the Gnome 2 look, either log in under Classic or use the last LTS.”

If it is buggy, why the hell release it and make it default! Nowhere in the website is it given that Natty Narwhal is still “experimental design”.

PS: Vista really sucked, still sucks inspite of SP2 on my machine.

“Vista never lost wifi when you closed the lid on your laptop”

WorksForMe™.

Well, it did break every time I restarted my laptop though. There was no fix to this other than reinstalling Vista.

Right now, I have the problem that every time I restart, I have to go through system repair. For all it’s faults, Ubuntu doesn’t have this problem.

@BB:

Have you considered taking your laptop back to the seller and asking for it to be fixed on warranty?

That’s what normal people do.

Oh, but I forgot … you’re not normal, are you?

…insert SP1 here* .... wait, the bugs and issues are fixed after only a year?

Actually most of the (performance and compatibility) problems were solved by summer of 2007 – around half a year, long before SP1 came around.

Also, the fabled Wait For SP1™ is just another myth propagated by ABMers and their ilk.

Just saying. ;)
