The assertion that if you switch to a “Free Software” operating system, you’ll be freer than you ever were. Clouds will part, the sun will shine…and then X will crash due to a driver error, and no one will help you. Usually backed by MicrosoftisEvil

Also important to note that YoullNotBeFree if you use FreeBSD. Or OpenBSD. Or OpenSolaris. Or … well, you get the point. You probably won’t be free even if you write your own operating system from scratch.
You will only Be Free if you Commit to Linux.
After which, of course, They will Commit You. It’s for your own good.
