An attempt from the Free Software Foundation to spread some FUD just before the release of Windows 7.
They say Microsoft :
- Corrupts educational departments.
- Reads the whole content of your HDDs and sends it back at them.
- Dictates OEMs about hardware requirements.
- Forces updates on people.
- “... have engaged in underhanded behavior, including bribing officials, in an attempt to stop such efforts.” (Open standards)
- Enforces DRM.
- “... has its own security interests at heart, not those of its users.”

I'll admit this is a little concerning... how much of it is actually true, I don't know much about Windows 7 o.O
Also I'd like to chuck out there that I don't HATE Windows 7, I'm not a fan as such but I don't hate it.
I mean some of those points are actually true, it does tend to very much encourage upgrades and updates, they have been involved in underhanded and sneaky, often illegal, tactics, they do enforce DRM and they do have their own interests at heart largely.
I do think the site is a little over-the-top and it makes little difference to me anyway but I have to say it's not all mistruths.
I love this site. I hate Windows 7.
