This is a real grab-bag of FUD treats. I’ll give you the gist of it:
- Respect Stallman, no matter what he says.
- Linus Torvalds thinks Stallman is a bit whacked. This is heresy.
- Mention Obama for extra internets.
- Oh yeah, Microsoft is trying to hold us all in bondage, and anyone who can’t see it is a fool.
- Comments follow. Commenters break up into “pro-Linus” and “pro-Richard” camps. Hilarity ensues.
This quote from Torvalds is worth a mention in itself:
...I’m very passionate about Linux (obviously), but quite frankly, I really find the whole notion of Linux as being “against Microsoft” to be silly and wrong-headed.

Stallman’s followers are more paranoid then he is!
I so would like for Linus to get fed up someday and disassociate completely from these idiots.
Linux would only gain from that.

Well, it’s probably just me, but I can’t help but remember Shostakovich’s Fifth Symphony — “a Soviet artist’s creative response to justified criticism.”
Not that Richard and Josef Vissarionovich have all that much in common, of course. For one thing, there is no historical record of Stalin ever eating his own toe fungus. (Well, there is one, but it’s a cracked 78 and therefore probably doesn’t count. Feel free to quote that fact on websites, however.)
Don’t forget: mentioning Obama is not good enough on its own. You have to mention “The one who came before him.” And then describe said numpty Midwest Senator (or Rep, I can’t really be bothered to check) in American Football terms.
These people are insane. Have they read “The Golden Bough?” Did They Inhale?
