Folks, I have terrible, terrible news. You see, noted M$ shill TheOatmeal, purveyor of comics, has begun spreading FUD about the OS of Freedom(GPLv3 of Freedom, that is). What is his sin? Why, claiming that Linux has a steeper learning curve than other operating systems. Does he not know that Linux JustWorks™?

Reading a few comments on the site, a few Linux Fans couldn’t take a joke. XD

You’ll love this comment:

“Er, ten years ago maybe. Mint installs dead easy on anything these days. Love the comics, this ones a bit wrong. Sorry.”

So much TMs in this. Just pathetic.

“Love the comics, this ones a bit wrong.”

He’s absolutely right.

Windows:
1. Reboot
2. Insert DaRT media
3. WinDbg, !analyze -v
4. ????
5. THAR IT BOOTS.

“@Andrew Kostka: If you think that Fedora and Ubuntu are clones of Mac OS X then you have no idea what Gnu-Linux is. You are able to change the GUI of those distros to mimic the look of a Mac or Windows with add-ons and packages that don’t cost you anything. You have the initial choice of using the Gnome or KDE Gui on installation to ease your transition and use from Mac or Windows to Linux so you can navigate easily and get whatever you need done. The Linux Kernel is a derivative of Unix. You need to go do your homework man. Come back and pontificate when you can take any version of Mac OS X and run it on an aged x86 PC with a 500mhz or less CPU and memory of 128mb.”

LOL’d

Would that include iOS, which has the same core. Those specs seem generous for my 1st Gen iPod Touch.

Will Windows XP on a 7MHz proc and 20 MB of RAM do it?

So basically, Linux the only OS that teaches you not to be a stupid consumerist moron and take things into your own hands.

Obviously many of the world’s problems would solve themselves if more people used Linux.

I don’t exactly see you building your components from scratch, Queefer. Last I checked, they were coming from corporations. (Kind of like Linux’s source code)
