Just for a change, some genuine FUD. And, just for a change, yer actual genuine Microsoft FUD. Referenced from ZDNet via Fragmentation FTW over at LHB.
Yeah, I’m only including it because it supports one of my TMs (although MrKvonic is clearly being ironic).
And because I want to test out TMR’s support for links to Youtube videos.
And because … well, I’m not a much of a one for marketing videos, and I only got a minute into this one, but you know what it reminds me of?
Munich, that’s what. How’s die Scheiternzug steaming along, these days?
One man’s FUD is apparently another man’s obvious bleeding truth.

Well, I guess if you compile actual facts into a video-infographic, they turn into FUD.
I mean it’s bleeding obvious, isn’t it…
Not FUD, unfortunately. OOo really looks that way And that’s a sad thing…
This video still makes me wonder what the hell Microsoft were thinking when they posted it.
OpenOffice.org isn’t as good at what it does as MSO, but that doesn’t justify or excuse this kind of behaviour.
If a piece of software exists, there are users who have had a bad experience with it. No exceptions.
A video that consists of basically nothing but such experiences is FUD, even though the experiences are real.
I’d be inclined to agree that it’s FUD, as you say.
But it’s a pretty good summary of the reasons that Munich went so disastrously wrong, and if it helps prevent another Munich, it can’t be a bad thing.
