It’s all very sad. Everybody’s favourite dipstick loon has jumped ship from Computer World and is headed over to his New Linux and open source home over at ZDNet.
Richly stupid comments as ever: apparently ZDNet is the home of countless “Microsoft trolls.” Er, say again?
And of course none of this has anything to do with the fact that SJVN used to be the “editor at large” for a company called Ziff Davis.
Adieu, Stevey. We will miss you. And sincere gratitude for your parting list of five:
Red Hat is living proof that open-source companies can be as successful and profitable as any proprietary software firm.
And presumably a slap in the face for all those open-source companies that fall by the wayside.
Larry Ellison and company likes open source, so long as it directly benefits Oracle. When it doesn’t — and most of Sun’s open-source projects didn’t — they’re history. It makes business sense, but it’s not how open-source development is meant to work.

Attachmate buys Novell.
And so what? Oh, apparently it’s impossible to fork OpenSuSe. What the hell is wrong with freetards? Do they not even believe their own propaganda?
Android tablets suck.
But obviously, they’ll get better. Please. Oh please. Pretty please?
Ubuntu recommits to the desktop.
Say what, again?
This sorry mess is apparently my list [of 5 biggest Linux and open-source stories] for 2010.
That’s it? That’s all the man has got?
I’d say more, but I have to hurry over to ZDNet and post a few anonymous trolling flames …

Damn!
I used to love reading the flame wars more than SJVN’s droolings.
Oh well, Over to ZDnet and lets see how the are…
