Not FUD, but the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has approved Microsoft’s purchase of Skype for $8.5 billion. This approval comes 2 months after Microsoft announced it wanted to purchase Skype.
I’m really keen to see how the revisionist historians spin this in their tech blogs. Most of them already misfired when they claimed recent Skype issues were because Microsoft had meddled with it. When, in fact, Microsoft had no ownership or access and was still waiting to find out if they were even allowed to buy the company, let alone change the product.
One of the most damning examples of this was the Thinq article:
Skype crashes and burns – Microsoft death grip suspected
The comments say it all, they tear the author to shreds.

It won’t be worst than before the approval. Every idiot who would say Microsoft is killing Skype has already done so. If they say something about the approval, they’ll just point out that they were wrong before.
... Thinking about it, I don’t see why I expect them to think rationally. My mistake.
I suppose it would be really hard to measure, and actually I don’t care either way, but wouldn’t it be funny if Microsoft actually made money out of Skype (unlike the saintly EBay, not that freetards bother to mention the previous owner), and then open-sourced the code?
I mean, if I was Ballmer, that would be exactly the sort of evil plan that would make my life seriously worth-while.
@IMGX64:
But, but, the Loons already think rationally! Even when it comes to image processing, they think rationally! How else could you cram something as orthogonal as calculus into a completely separate domain?
Oh, you meant “rational” as in “thoughtful; sensible; measured.” Not as in frothing at the mouth, pig-ignorant, googling for continuous functions.
My mistake.
(Yes, I know it’s irrelevant. I just can’t stop laughing.)
