Dear Mr. Pogson continues on his lunacy. This time, the object of his obsession is the Bilski case. Leaving aside the merits of decision itself, which is summarized at “The SCOTUS Blog”:http://www.scotusblog.com/2010/06/today’s-opinion-in-bilski/, ultimately, the court largely restricted itself to striking down the Bilski patent and opined that in general, software patents should be more rigorously tested before being granted, much to the dismay of the Freetard Horde who were hoping that the ebil M$ would suddenly lose its entire patent portfolio.

However, Mr. Pogson kindly informs us that MSFT is down 0.19% on the day following the decision and no one will take their patent threats seriously anymore. I’m so glad that someone was reading into the decision carefully, or I might have missed the fact that software patents are still acceptable and the Machine or Transformation Test is still a valid metric. But, MSFT is down so the Linux Youth must climb out of their basements to rejoice in the streets.

Well, I’m wasting my time as usual, but I felt the Calling to comment on Pogo-man’s blog.

I didn’t really do your argument justice, because I felt a sudden rage that somebody as mentally unstable as this is allowed anywhere near a school building.

It is one of his better ones though, isn’t it?

If it helps any, here is SJVN’s reaction to Bilski: http://blogs.computerworld.com/16419/bilski_loses_but_the_patent_madness_continues

Well, I guess it doesn’t help much.

When will these people recognise that software is not an all-encompassing field, and patent judgements regarding imaginary sprockets have no bearing on patent judgements in IT?

Why am I even asking myself this?
