Just a brief break from troll nonsense. Nothing new here: just move along, please.
Actually, it’s rather fun. Ms Noyes is now advocating the insane concept that you can now do everything in a FOSS way, and of course you have to follow the FOSS licence, and of course you have to give absolutely everything back to teh community (refs IBM, Google, Oracle, et al) ...
... which is not quite enough for the pure of spirit. Oh no. You also have to follow Process.
I kind of thought that Process went out the window, watched by a billion eyes, when you signed on to the Free Software Future; but apparently not:
The new checklist, meanwhile, is designed to provide a confidential internal tool that companies can use to assess their progress with a rigorous compliance process, and to prioritize their improvement efforts.
Well, that’s about ten useless apparatchniks added right there. Is that enough? Oh no.
While it’s not a guarantee of compliance, nor does it provide specific guidance on interpreting the GNU General Public License (GPL)...
You mean my tiny, unregarded, little 30 person company needs to do more to be Totally, Like, Free?
How does your company measure up? Find out by downloading the Self-Assessment Checklist (registration required)
Halleluja! I can now sleep comfortably at night, knowing that a bunch of self-serving, self-righteous idiots may or may not let me sell my software!
I genuinely don’t have a clue why nobody ever thought of this before.
