So 13 people working for Microsoft are tasked with competing against Linux and OpenOffice.org? You do know that Microsoft has over 93,000 employees, right?

Choice quote:

“I’ve used OpenOffice.org on my PCs, Mac, and Linux-based PCs, and I’m a fan of it. It’s clearly not as powerful or easy to use as Microsoft Office, and has some maddening drawbacks on certain platforms. But you can’t argue with free, and that’s what has Microsoft worried.”

But you can’t argue with free, and that’s what has Microsoft worried.

Sea water is free, too, but thus far I still haven’t seen anyone drinking straight from the ocean.

Yeah, considering that everyone wan’t to drink clean water that’s simply stupid. yes, I know that in some countries/places it’s impossible to find clean water, but still that’s what our body wants. Our body doesn’t carve for water full of chemicals and stuff, that’s exactly how you get ill and, possibly, die.

Price doesn’t matter, what really matter is quality. I used to get cheap stuff, but after spending even more in cheap stuff that broke every single time I changed my mind. Yes, I still try to save something, the economic crisis is still there and I don’t have that much money to buy anything I want, but still I try things and go for the quality at any price. If I really need something, and the best thing you can buy cost 5000€, hell yeah I’ll get it even if it means working day and night.

@JoeMonco, that is the best analogy I’ve ever heard. I’ve been using the “you can offer a turd sandwich for free, but most people still won’t want to eat it” line for a while now, this offers an excellent alternative.
