The FSF has long been a pox upon the house of anyone who actually wants to 'get stuff done’ with an open source operating system. See historical accounts of RMS berating the OpenBSD developers for their 'insecure’ support of closed source components. In my humble opinion the very idea that the OpenBSD team would do something insecure is ludicrous. Well, some of the Gnome devs have finally had it with RMS incessant whinging when some of them dare to discuss free-software clones of non-free software.

Miguel should just go and work for Microsoft.
RMS is 100% right on this one

Pretty much so, there is a major push to switch Gnome to C# as it core development language and now that the whole of Gnome is spliting you can bet that .NET will become the core dependency. Remember, MS can void its “promises” over .NET at any moment, the EEE is is progressing well.
For those of you not up on the lingo, EEE stands for Embrace, Extend and Extinguish, which basically boils down to bleating AnythingButMicrosoft™. Never mind the fact that .NET CLR specification is available under the legally binding Microsoft Community Promise. Also, this debate, at its heart, has nothing to do with C# and Miguel de Icaza was not the one who raised the issue. Instead, the debate is centered around Gnome’s status as a GNU project.
Despite these facts, Miguel de Icaza, and Microsofts evil patents lurking just under the water like a coral reef waiting to run the HMS Freedom aground take center stage as the strawman du jour.
For bonus goodness, read the comments of the linked blog post where someone also accuses Stormy Peters, the executive directory of the Gnome Foundation, of being a Microsoft shill.

Comments
“IE is not a core product for MS, it’s a tool for maintaining Windows’ market dominance.”
God Bless the persecution complex™.
“Stormy Peters who I believe to be the Gnome board chair of being a MS shill.”
Yeah it is, I mean BoycottNovellWroteIt™, too, that’s obviously enough of a proof already.

The actual funny thing about this is that it wasn’t even De Icaza who proposed this, but yet all freetards chant to get rid off him/ban him from GNOME.
Stormy Peters is employed by the Gnome Foundation as the Foundation’s Executive Director.
Her salary comes out of contributions from the community, Friends of Gnome and companies that pay the foundation about 10,000 a pop (some 6-7 companies).
A clear cut case of a Microsoft shill!
Thanks for info.

(This is from here, about two deep from the initial quote.
“Much can be said about Stallman, but FSF remains the insurance opensource and (gnu)/Linux needs to prevail. So – anyone who has taken the bate (it is well poundered by now) – If you are prepared to dump Stallman you are also ditching FSF and you will ruin GPL.”
I’ve picked one splendid idiot out of dozens. Your Splendid Idiot May Vary.
I think we can give up and devote our energies to global warming, now. These people are doomed.
Much like the communist Bolsheviks and Mensheviks before them, they’ll tear themselves apart with all the infighting. I think our work is done here.
