Robot Pogson is back in action with another short blog full of senseless paranoia. Mr. Pogson is, unfortunately, too old to be considered a Linux Youth. However, if this article is any indication, he is still very young at heart. In a similar vein to how anyone and everyone who likes Windows is a PaidMicrosoftShill™, anyone who uses Microsoft technology has also been paid to do so.

You see, Microsoft doesn’t actually have any customers. What they instead have is a stockpile of magic lamps that Bill Gates has amassed with his satanic powers. Whenever they’ve blown through all the money they have on paying people to use their technology Steve Ballmer just goes downstairs, rubs a lamp, and wishes for another billion in revenue.

In all seriousness, the depth of Mr. Pogson’s paranoia is astounding. Even more impressive is that he seems to work at a school yet has not learned the basics of citing sources. Amusingly, his chosen article serving as evidence the Microsoft has paid a customer to switch off of Google Apps to MS’s cloud offerings actually states in the second paragraph

All was well until Serena discovered it didn’t like some of the gaps in Google Apps’ functionality for Gmail and Google Docs and found the customer service to be unsatisfactory.

It sure sounds like Serena (the company) was unhappy with their situation and the deal sweetener from Microsoft made it economical for them to switch to a new platform so shortly after a previous migration.
Sure, Microsoft is providing them BPOS for free this summer, much like introductory deals for utility services to entice switchers. Unless, of course, you are somehow arguing that my power company paid me to use their electricity by offering me a discount for the first 6 months.

“Of course, M$ has enough money to pay all of Google’s customers to switch to M$ but will they?”

I think my brain just explosed.

Oh, and Pogson’s latest comment:

“The malin post leads to a M$ blog entry supposedly endorsed by Serena. It claims M$ offered nothing for free. I question, then, why Serena is telling the world how great M$’s product is. Why is Serena giving something to M$ for free? Is M$ paying for the testimonials/astroturfing?”

I’m losing track of this gibberish. Are all paranoid schizophrenics like this?

I guess when I get a free cell phone with my 3 year mobile plan I’m actually being paid off?

I’m unfortunately not very familiar with Canada.

Do they have mental asylums, or is it just the policy to shunt dangerous loonies up north because that’s where the people with harpoons live?

You wonder where M$ gets all the money, right?
They did some very awesome trick. Being the central bank of Microsoft Points which again are tradeable into dollars for an 80:1 ratio, Microsoft CAN print money!
It’s obvious, isn’t it?

“Exchange and BPOS provides some service to a business and M$ seems not to be charging them for the installation or the service. That is a form of payment. Just ask the tax-man.”
Hey, you’re not charged for using Windows Live either. So does that mean that everytime I use Windows Live Messenger I get paid?
Conclusion: Install Windows Live Messenger twice, get a bonus payment!

“I also get to show people what they can do with GNU/Linux which helps the whole community by increasing market share. I also help with bug reports in a small way. When I retire, I will do some documentation but I may not have access to so much hardware without consulting.”
I file bug reports therefore I contribute!

I wonder how long Pogson can keep this up? I check in every day or so, and he just gets more and more demented.
