Yes, it’s him again. Yes, I’m sorry. It’s a compulsion, much like Schestowitz’.

Beautiful timeline.

Love the meticulous, OCD approach to adding “[Update]” to everything, without actually worrying about meaning.

Hidden nuggets for the diligent, such as “Microsoft has almost no assets, a few buildings and some obsolete computer code called “Windows”, code for a few Windows dependent applications, and a bunch of software patents related to Windows.”

Obviously not new FUD. Obviously not dangerous FUD (as long as Roy keeps away from edged blades and wall-sockets). But worth it for the entertainment.

I particularly enjoyed his defence of Novell NetWare…

Anno 1617, but still not released for Linux.

I particularly enjoyed this:

“1982: Digital Research sued Microsoft and IBM over copyright infringement. Gary Kildall sat down at a fresh IBM PC, typed a few keystrokes and popped up a Digital Research copyright notice. This impressed the Judge. DR won the case, monetary damages, and the right to clone MS-DOS. Microsoft won a gag oder to make sure the public never heard about this case.”
